dragon fruit...revisited...

I cut open my dragon fruit tonight....it sort of looks like a kiwi inside, only it's not green...it's kinda wierd looking!!
And really, it doesn't have much flavor. It seems like it should be really sweet, but it's actually quite bland...and i don't really like it...lol!!!

Mazzy's first Ten

Perhaps you may remember my series entitled "Mazzy's Firsts", where I chronical important milestones in the life of my dear car Mazzy. Well this past weekend, Mazzy hit ten thousand kilometers. My baby is growing up...!!

happy easter -- dutch style!!!!

Pammer and I had breakfast with our friends Kim and Jaco this morning. Jaco is from Holland and is a fantastic cook. Have you ever been for breakfast at DeDutch? (does this restaurant exist outside of the lower mainland? I have no idea!!) Anyway, Jaco had been bragging that he could make pannekoek (12" dutch pancakes that are like giant crepes) better than DeDutch, and we were willing to let him try!!!!!

So, for a fun easter experience, we had a pannekoek easter egg hunt extravaganza this morning! Jaco not only cooked for us, but also hid easter eggs so that we girls could go on a hunt!

Here's the chef in action....
mmmm....delish!!

a little bit (or a lot) of whipping cream and berries....
Easter egg hunt....yay for Lindor chocolates!!!
It was a great time, with amazing food and wonderful friends!!

what the fruit??

As I shopped for normal fruit like strawberries and bananas, I saw this crazy looking thing!!!
I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do with a Dragon Fruit, but I had to buy it. Anyone know what I can do with it, besides slice it open and eat it? Or is that all you do with it??!!!!

new shoes!!

Last weekend one of my old roomies was in town for a quick visit, and we always take time to hit the mall together. I am on the hunt for some black sandals with heels to wear in my bridesmaid duties at my brother's wedding in June. And because I'm trying hard to live on a budget, they are the only thing I should have considered buying. We went into LeChateau, where i NEVER shop, but I'm glad I did!!! I found these shoes displayed below and they were too sweet to pass up!! And who doesn't need cute summer shoes for work and play???!!?!?!!

Now I just need to paint my toenails!!!

Hockey Night in Canada!!!

One of my favorite things about many Saturday nights is Hockey Night in Canada - and especially when the Canucks are playing. But what do i love even more than watching the Canucks play on tv? well watching them in PERSON of course!!!

A few months ago, I helped Theresa and Chad out with a whole lotta painting in their house, and so to say thank you, when Chad scored some tickets to an upcoming Canucks game, he offered to take me along!!!! It's really the perfect situation, because while Chad and I go to the game and cheer as only superfans do, Pam and Theresa go out for a long dinner and talk as only sisters do! Last night finally arrived and we were off to the big game against the St. Louis Blues!!!
Here's Chad and I at the game!

And here is one of our overpriced but "you just gotta because you're at the game" 8-dollar beers

A couple of important players...one of the Sedin twins, and the ever important goalie, Roberto Luongo, aka "Bobby Lou"

It was a good game, tight fought for a good portion of it, but in the end the Canucks WON!!!!!! Here they are celebrating at the end of the game - they won 4-2!!

It had been a couple of years since i'd been to a Canucks game, so I was so happy to be able to go...thanks Chad!!!!
